Inspiring Kids To Learn Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Through Robotics
Here on Kaua’i, we have three programs for our keiki to get involved in robotics:
FRC (FIRST Robotics Competition)
The FIRST Robotics Competition is a worldwide robotics program for high school students. Currently the Kaua’ibots team is the only FRC team on Kaua’i and we are constantly expanding. Our team invites any high school or home school student on Kaua’i to join our team. This is in order to make robotics accessible to any student who wants it. Our team is connected with several other Hawai’i teams and love to make new connections across the country and the world. These connections help to grow and inspire our students and shape their future. We encourage everyone to check out our team.
VEX Robotics
A robotics program for middle and high school students.
FIRST Lego League (FLL)
First Lego League is a national robotics program for elementary school students. There are approximately 12 schools on Kauai who participate in this tournament. The Kaua’ibots involvement with FLL has included volunteering during the tournaments, helping to set up and breakdown the venue and supporting the kids while they compete. In years past, the Kaua’ibots have run a food concession booth during the competition allowing this to be a fundraiser for our team. Learn more about FIRST Lego League in Hawaii here or contact your child’s school to get involved.
